Whether you want to visit the inside of the administrative buildings on top of Toompea or sit around a bonfire at  the Treski barn,  all is good as long as you go there  on  a bicycle.

Old Town Days

Tallinn’s Old Town Days are eagerly anticipated every year.  Locals and visitors alike come to take part in this year’s activities.  The theme is “A Changing Town”, focusing on both the past and the future, with subthemes for each day of the festival.  Wednesday’s them is “Changing Stories”, and will celebrate Children’s Day by offering activities especially for kids.  There is also a children’s area open in Hirve Park all week. Thursday, June 2nd will offer a historical walking tour accompanied by live choir music to celebrate the “Day of Gates”. Friday’s “Toompea Day” will give the public a chance to come inside the administrative buildings on top of Toompea.  Saturday is “Tower Day” and the towers of old town will be host to exhibitions, guided tours, and performances.  The final day of the festival, “Changing Human” will focus on what it means to be human – all of Old Town’s churches invite you to participate in their usual services.  See the whole program at www.vanalinnapaevad.ee or pick up a booklet at Rahva Raamat, Tallinn City Government Information Hall, Tallinn Tourist Information, or Tallin City Centre Administration.

Tallinn Chamber Music Festival

The Tallinn Chamber Music Festival is a gathering of Estonia’s best classical musicians as well as some very talented visitors from abroad.  There will be a concert each evening offering high-quality music at a very low price or at no cost.  Performances will include the music of well-known composers, like Schubert, Debussy, and Beethoven, as well as composers native to Estonia, such as Kõrvits and Uusberg.

Türi is well known for its flower festival, but this year, which marks 90 years since the town’s founding, visitors are invited to a number of celebrations all dedicated to the longevity of this city’s survival.  Events will include music, sports, and markets.

Treski Barn’s Summer Opening Party

Treski Barn invites you to join in celebrating as they open their doors for the summer season.  Come breathe the country air, enjoy local cuisine, and listen to live music around the bonfire.  Entertainment will include  DJ Maale Elama, Zetod, Lõõtsavägilased and Nedsaja Küla Bänd.

The Concert of the Beginning of Mosquito-Whine vol 4

This annual concert hops around from one farmyard to the next.  This year it is taking place at Mardu farm and will feature Estonian artists Verbarium, Barbariz, Micucu, Sander Mölder, Harlet Orasmaa and Kulno Malva, and the Estonian-Hungarian trio Porteleki/Tärn/Pärnoja.  There will be a café set up in the Mardu residence for the night of the concert and children are welcome (as the program includes creative activities).

Saaremaa Orchid Festival

Come see and learn about the beautiful flowers native to Saaremaa.  The Orchid Festival has organized concerts, speakers, film screenings, and flower expeditions with experts to help you fully appreciate the richness of the island’s nature.

“Jazz Time” International Festival

“Jazz Time” has become the largest jazz event in Ida Virumaa.  This festival has been going strong for over ten years and has included artists from Estonia, Latvia, Finland, Russia, the USA, and Germany and contributes to Ida Viru’s ever-growing modern and international image.

Tallinn Bicycle Week 2106

Bicycle Week will seek to acknowledge and encourage the presence of Tallinn’s cyclists and educate both them and the public about how to safely navigate Tallinn’s streets on a bike.  The festival will include seminars and workshops as well as a group ride to a bike-in movie, a club night, and a bike picnic, a.k.a. a bike-nique.
