Kumu Documentary. REM: Rem Koolhaas
7 Feb
Kumu auditorium
For over four decades, the “starchitect” and master provocateur Rem Koolhaas has shaken up the field of architecture and redefined the role of the architect in the world. The film-maker Tomas Koolhaas spent four years following his father around the globe, playing witness to Rem’s extraordinary creativity, as well as exploring his works through the eyes of those who actually inhabit them. REM is a rare and unique insight into the mind of a genius.
Performance “25 Dances”
8 Feb
Vaba Lava / Open Space
“25 Dances” is a performance for Fine 5 Dance Theatre’s 25th anniversary. During these years Tiina Ollesk and René Nõmmik have worked with many wonderful dancers and creative artists.
They have learned and created together, traveled and performed in 16 countries around the world. They have been working together for long periods and also shortly. They have been very close and supportive of each other. And now, when some of these people already live in different places, they get together once again both in real time and virtually for the performance “25 Dances”, where many of these people who have worked together with Fine5 during 25 years, meet on the stage again. They create cultural patterns – now and then, together and individually.
Acoussion Festival
9 Feb
Former Helios Cinema
Acoussion Festival is a pop-up music festival that has so far been held four times in summers and once in spring.
One of the most important characteristics of the Acoussion Festival is the so-called pop-up stages, which means that in addition to the main stage, performances take place at intimate venues that are built/planted in unexpected places. This creates an intimate contact between visitors and musicians and brings the music closer to the audience than the usual concerts/festivals.
