VM Fest Mustvee International Sacred Music Festival 2018

The International Sacred Music Festival will take place from August 7-12, 2018. It is dedicated to the anniversary of the Republic of Estonia.

A great deal of Estonian sacred music and music for the texts of the sacred verses of the Old Believers of Peipsi is presented.

The Peipsi capital, Mustvee, has been a unique cultural, educational and spiritual attraction center for the Peipsi region during its 500-year history. There are five different churches here: the Lutheran, the Orthodox, the Unitarian, the Old Believers and the Baptist Church. The idea of the festival is to bring world-class musical performances to the Mustvee holy places and thus to combine different cultures. VM Fest Mustvee International Sacred Music Festival does not just offer classical, national or old music, but music that can take listeners to the new heights. Sacred music is very diverse, be it Orthodox, Lutheran liturgical music, Old Believers' songs or spirituals. According to the concept of the festival, every Mustvee holy place holds the concerts that are close to its confession and culture. This year's festival is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia and reflects the unique historical and cultural heritage and diversity of Estonia, which is characteristic to Peipsimaa.
