Robin Ellis Meta's exhibition "U+1F6AE"

Robin Ellis Meta will open personal exhibition U+1F6AE in Hobusepea gallery on Wednesday, August 5th at 6 pm. The exhibition will remain open until September 24, 2018.

Robin Ellis Meta (1989) has obtained BA degree at the Royal Academy of Art The Hague in 2016. The artist has resided in their homeland, Estonia, since the beginning of 2017. It is there that Meta restarted their characteristically critical Instagram documentary photography and vlogging. "U+1F6AE" was born through the research of the exploratory archive materials and publications. The title refers to the "put litter in its place" symbol.

The exhibition deals with topics such as municipal waste, creation in the digitalized world and avatar-based virtual identity. Meta expresses the latter through finished and unfinished artworks, creating a correlation that loses all need for a finished end product.

Robin Ellis Meta muses: "Your trash is my art."

The artist thanks the EAA Gallery.

Exhibitions in Hobusepea gallery are supported by the Cultural Endowment of Estonia and Estonian Ministry of Culture.
